    Week 61 update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 1st August 2021.

    Club Stats. 1226 members collectively rode 80558 km in 2302 rides, climbing 423691 metres in 3856 hours!

    The number of members are up by 19 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride more. With total distance, elevation gained and time spent on the saddle were all up.

    To be in the top 100, you needed to ride minimum 224 km during the week!

    There were 2 who rode more than 100 a day!

    5 rode a quadruple century, 14 rode at least a double century and 85 riders rode at least a century!

    30 averaged above 30 kmph for the week. 2 climbed more than 4000 metres… Incredible riding by everyone.

    Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…

    Leaderboard: Overall

    2 riders averaged more than 100 km a day. With a new man at the top!

    FB Vaibhav from Delhi was top of the charts. He rode an incredible 873 km. He was second last week.

    In second place is Utkarsh Verma from Uttar Pradesh who rode 768 km in the week. He was third last week.

    Third spot is taken by Sagar Shirbhate from Maharashtra. He rode 662 km. He is back at the front after long.

    Leaderboard: Women

    The women’s leaderboard has gotten more competitive. The ladies have upped their game!

    Mohan Rathore from Rajasthan was top of the charts this week. Riding an incredible 337 km. She is 40th overall.

    Next up is Manju Varkey from Kerala. Who rode an impressive 321 km. She is 51st overall.

    Third is Meghna Ghatge from Maharashtra who rode 272 km. She is 75th overall.

    There are 4 women in the top 100 this week, same as last week.

    Leaderboard: Longest Ride

    The monsoon and opening up of lockdowns ensured that long rides once again kicked started this week! Brevet season is back…

    Top spot goes to Suresh V from Tamil Nadu for the longest ride. He did a 407 km long ride!

    Next up is Hitesh Kumar from Karnataka having done a 405 km long ride.

    Third is Murali Iyer from Tamil Nadu, who did a 404.9 km long ride.

    Leaderboard: Fastest

    The top 20 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace.

    Fastest of the lot is Mayank Tripathi from Canada who averaged an incredible 35.4 kmph over the week! He was fastest last two weeks.

    Second fastest for the week is Midhun George from Canada whose weekly average is a fantastic 34.4 kmph.

    Third is Varun LK from Karnataka averaging 33.3 kmph over the week.

    Leaderboard: Queen/ King of the Mountain

    Kerala took top honours this week!

    Climber of the week is Geevan Lal from Kerala having climbed 6571 metres.

    Second is Goutham YV from Karnataka who climbed 4207 metres.

    Third is Anil Gurung from Uttarakhand, who climbed 3874 metres during the week.
