    Week 229 update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 20th October 2024.

    Club Stats. 3504 members collectively rode 123300 km in 2929 rides, climbing 587081 metres in 4988 hours!

    The number of members are up by 1 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride more. With total distance, elevation gained, number of rides and time spent on the saddle were all up.

    6 riders averaged more than 100 km a day.

    1 rode a 1000. 24 rode at least a 200.

    77 averaged above 30 kmph for the week.

    13 climbed more than 4000 metres.

    Incredible riding by everyone.

    Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…

    Leaderboard: Overall

    5 riders averaged more than 100 km a day!

    Subhash Hangara from Karnataka was top of the charts. He rode an incredible 1078 km.

    In second place is Gajendra Dutta from Uttar Pradesh who rode 998 km in the week. He was third last week.

    Third spot is taken by Shun Athi from Tamil Nadu. He rode 740 km.

    Leaderboard: Women

    The women’s leaderboard has got tougher this week. To be in the top 10, you needed to ride 219+ km…
    There are 12 women in the top 100 this week, same as last week.

    Vandana Dhavate from Telangana was top of the charts this week. Riding an incredible 653 km. She is 10th overall.

    Next up is Malika Kalra from Chandigarh. Who rode an impressive 410 km. She is 36th overall.

    Third is Simy Thomas from Kerala who rode 335 km. She is 57th overall.

    Leaderboard: Longest Ride

    Rides this week coming in from Tamil Nadu!

    Top spot goes to Subhash Hangara from Karnataka for the longest ride. He did a 1007 km long ride!

    Next up is Shajreel N from Karnataka having done a 612 km long ride.

    Third is Sunil Kumar from Karnataka, who did a 603 km long ride.

    Leaderboard: Fastest

    The top 77 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace.

    Fastest of the lot is KPS Oberoi from Delhi who averaged an incredible 38.9 kmph over the week!

    Second fastest for the week is Joel Sundaram from Tamil Nadu whose weekly average is a fantastic 37.9 kmph. He was third last week.

    Third is Kavi Mahajan from Haryana averaging 36.9 kmph over the week.

    Leaderboard: Queen/ King of the Mountain

    The climbing leaderboard went to the Western Ghats!

    Climber of the week is Goutham from Tamil Nadu having climbed 9072 metres.

    Second is Romy George from Kerala who climbed 8684 metres.

    Third is Vivek Deshmukh from Maharashtra, who climbed 7227 metres during the week.
