    Week 16 Update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 20th September 2020.

    Club Stats. 431 members collectively rode 43762 km in 1167 rides, climbing 259192 metres in 2095 hours!

    The number of members are up by 14 as compared to last week. The week saw more than a 1100 rides and 2000 hours of saddle time.  The total mileage and elevation is also up. Good mileage by club members!

    Kudos to all these fantastic people…

    Leaderboard: Overall

    Sukhwinder Singh from Punjab was once again top of the charts. He has been in the first couple of positions for the last 12 weeks! He rode an insane 1376 km. Almost 200 km a day.

    In second place is Rakesh Kumar Singh from Bihar who rode 656 km in the week.

    Third spot is taken by Shun Athi from Tamil Nadu. He rode 585 km which included a mammoth virtual everesting as well!

    Leaderboard: Women

    Kavitha Narayan from Karnataka was top of the charts this week and was top lady last week as well. Riding an incredible 267 km. She is 48th overall.

    Next up is Tara Jayaraman from Karnataka. Who rode an impressive 207 km. She is a new entrant to the top. She is 82nd overall.

    Third is Urmi Das from West Bengal, who rode 180 km. She is 92nd overall.

    There are 3 women in the top 100 this week, same as last week.

    Leaderboard: Longest Ride

    This section of the leaderboard is the only one which sees a major shakeup every week. With the other’s more or less set in stone!

    Top spot goes to Om Hitendra Mahajan from Maharashtra for the longest ride. He did a fantastic 386 km long ride!

    Next up is Sukhwinder Singh from Punjab having done a mammoth 352.3 km ride.

    Third is Sahil Raul from Odisha, who did a 257.5 km long ride. First time that Odisha has been on the leaderboard.

    Leaderboard: Fastest

    The top 3 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace…

    Fastest of the lot is once again Sumit Patil from Maharashtra who averaged an incredible 36.1 kmph over the week! That is FAST.

    Second fastest for the week is Aditya Malhotra from Delhi whose weekly average is an incredible 32.2 kmph, which included a win in Delhi’s road race.

    Third is, Satvik Gupta from Haryana averaging 31.9 kmph over the week.

    Leaderboard: King/ Queen of the Mountain

    Tamil Nadu once again clean sweeps the top spots in the climbing category this week.

    Climber of the week is once again Shun Athi from Tamil Nadu having climbed 9557 metres. He took the KOM last three weeks as well.

    Second is Imaad Sait from Tamil Nadu with 7611 metres to his name in the Nilgiris.

    Third is Joel Sundaram from Tamil Nadu who climbed 4992 metres in Ooty.

    *In this category, only rides recorded on devices with barometers are eligible. Phone Strava is known to give wildly inaccurate altitude gain readings and therefore are not taken into account!
