    Week 17 Update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 27th September 2020.

    Club Stats. 448 members collectively rode 41381 km in 1077 rides, climbing 229761 metres in 1948 hours!

    The number of members are up by 17 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride less, with number of rides, total distance, time spent on the saddle and elevation gained down substantially as compared to last week.

    Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…

    Leaderboard: Overall

    Sukhwinder Singh from Punjab was once again top of the charts. He has been in the first couple of positions for the last 13 weeks! He rode an incredible 909 km. Down from the previous two weeks, but impressive nonetheless.

    In second place is Utkarsh Verma from Uttar Pradesh who rode 801 km in the week.

    Third spot is taken by Sagar Shirbate from Maharashtra. He rode 610 km.

    Leaderboard: Women

    Alexina Correya from Kerala was top of the charts this week. Riding an incredible 316 km. She is 34th overall.

    Next up is Stanzin Tselha from Ladakh. Who rode an impressive 171 km. She is a new entrant to the top. Impressive mileage considering she is riding in the big mountains. She is 90th overall.

    Third is Tara Jayaraman from Karnataka, who rode 160 km. She is 96th overall. Last week she was 2nd.

    There are 4 women in the top 100 this week, one more than last week.

    Leaderboard: Longest Ride

    This section of the leaderboard is the only one which sees a major shakeup every week. With the other’s more or less set in stone!

    Top spot goes to Mohammed Fazil from Karnataka for the longest ride. He did a fantastic 307.9 km long ride!

    Next up is Sukhwinder Singh from Punjab having done a mammoth 302.2 km ride.

    Third is Faizy Ozil from Kerala, who did a 269.3 km long ride.

    Leaderboard: Fastest

    The top 3 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace while clocking incredible mileage.

    Fastest of the lot is Aditya Malhotra from Delhi who averaged a scorching 37.1 kmph over the week! That is FAST. He was second fastest last week. This was part of his win in a community race in NCR.

    Second fastest for the week is Satvik Gupta from Haryana whose weekly average is an incredible 35 kmph. He was 3rd last week.

    Third is, Shun Athi from Tamil Nadu averaging 34.6 kmph over the week.

    Leaderboard: King/ Queen of the Mountain

    Tamil Nadu once again sweeps the top spot in the climbing category this week.

    Climber of the week is Imaad Sait from Tamil Nadu having climbed 8993 metres. He is back at the top after a few weeks. Last week he was second.

    *In this category, only rides recorded on devices with barometers are eligible. Phone Strava is known to give wildly inaccurate altitude gain readings and therefore are not taken into account!
