    Week 18 Update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 4th September 2020.

    Club Stats. 466 members collectively rode 47549 km in 1181 rides, climbing 265233 metres in 2238 hours!

    The number of members are up by 18 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride more, with number of rides, total distance, time spent on the saddle and elevation gained up substantially as compared to last week.

    Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…

    Leaderboard: Overall

    Sukhwinder Singh from Punjab was once again top of the charts. He has been in the first couple of positions for the last 14 weeks! He rode an incredible 762 km. Down from the previous three weeks, but impressive nonetheless.

    In second place is Dheeraj Narsian from New Delhi who rode 693 km in the week.

    Third spot is taken by Shun Athi from Tamil Nadu. He rode 599 km.

    Leaderboard: Women

    Lorraine D’Costa from Kerala was top of the charts this week. Riding an incredible 519 km. She is 11th overall.

    Next up is Tara Jayaraman from Karnataka. Who rode an impressive 197 km. She is 91st overall and was 3rd last week.

    Third is Urmi Das from West Bengal, who rode 196 km. She is 94th overall.

    There are 3 women in the top 100 this week, one less than last week.

    Leaderboard: Longest Ride

    This section of the leaderboard is the only one which sees a major shakeup every week. With the other’s more or less set in stone! The top 10 all did 200+ km rides…

    Top spot goes to Ripunjay Gogoi from Assam for the longest ride. He did a fantastic 308.8 km long ride! This was part of the Guwahati Randonneurs Brevet

    Next up is Hemabh Choudhary from Assam having done a 303 km ride.

    Third is Geevan Lal from Kerala, who did a 300.4 km long ride.

    The top 3 are all triple centurions!

    Leaderboard: Fastest

    The top 3 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace while clocking incredible mileage. Its the same boys as last week, with just the order shaken up!

    Fastest of the lot is Satvik Gupta from Haryana who averaged an incredible 35.2 kmph over the week! That is FAST. He was second fastest last week. This was part of doing a 100 miler ride.

    Second fastest for the week is Shun Athi from Tamil Nadu whose weekly average is an incredible 34.4 kmph. He was 3rd last week.

    Third is, Aditya Malhotra from Delhi averaging 33.4 kmph over the week.

    Leaderboard: King/ Queen of the Mountain

    Tamil Nadu once again sweeps the top spot in the climbing category this week.

    Climber of the week is Joel Sundaram from Tamil Nadu having climbed 4561 metres. He is back at the top after a few weeks.

    *In this category, only rides recorded on devices with barometers are eligible. Phone Strava is known to give wildly inaccurate altitude gain readings and therefore are not taken into account!
