    Week 19 Update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 11th October 2020.

    Club Stats. 477 members collectively rode 48599 km in 1267 rides, climbing 269513 metres in 2282 hours!

    The number of members are up by 11 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride more, with number of rides, total distance, time spent on the saddle and elevation gained up marginally as compared to last week.

    You needed to ride at least 190 km in the week to be in the top 100…Incredible!

    Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…

    Leaderboard: Overall

    After a long time, this leaderboard has seen a shakeup in proceedings.

    Shun Athi from Tamil Nadu was top of the charts. He rode an incredible 799 km. Numbers in line with his endurance racing. He was 3rd last week.

    In second place is Sagar Shirbhate from Maharashtra who rode 792 km in the week. Just a handful of kilometres less than 1st place.

    Third spot is taken by Sukhwinder Singh from Punjab. He rode 687 km. After 14 weeks of being in the top 2, he has finally been deposed. Nonetheless, an incredibly impressive mileage by him.

    Leaderboard: Women

    Garima Takyar from Haryana was top of the charts this week. Riding 217 km. She is 73rd overall and has been fast throughout the week.

    Next up is Tara Jayaraman from Karnataka. Who rode an impressive 211 km. She is 79th overall and was 2nd last week as well.

    There are 2 women in the top 100 this week, one less than last week.

    Leaderboard: Longest Ride

    This section of the leaderboard is the only one which sees a major shakeup every week. With the other’s more or less set in stone! The top 10 all did 200+ km rides…

    Top spot goes to Avinash Noronha from Uttar Pradesh for the longest ride. He did 481.8 km long ride!

    Next up is Rahul S Nadig from Karnataka having done a 302.6 km ride.

    Third is Bharat Bhushan Goyal from Punjab, who did a 300.8 km long ride.

    The top 3 are all triple centurions!

    Leaderboard: Fastest

    The top 3 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace while clocking incredible mileage.

    Fastest of the lot is Mayank Tripathi from Canada who averaged an incredible 37.5 kmph over the week! That is FAST.

    Second fastest for the week is Satvik Gupta from Haryana whose weekly average is an incredible 35.9 kmph. He was 1st last week.

    Third is Garima Takyar from Haryana averaging 34 kmph over the week.

    Leaderboard: King/ Queen of the Mountain

    Tamil Nadu once again sweeps the top spot in the climbing category this week.

    Climber of the week is Joel Sundaram from Tamil Nadu having climbed 6630 metres. He was top man last week as well.

    Second is fellow Ooty boy, Imaad Sait from Tamil Nadu who climbed 6217 metres.

    Third is Sagar Shirbhate from Maharashtra, who climbed 5858 metres during the week.

    *In this category, only rides recorded on devices with barometers are eligible. Phone Strava is known to give wildly inaccurate altitude gain readings and therefore are not taken into account!
