Week 40 Update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 7th March 2021.
Club Stats. 809 members collectively rode 52511 km in 1554 rides, climbing 281514 metres in 2439 hours!
The number of members are up by 9 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride more or less the same with total distance, elevation gained and time spent on the saddle were all constant.
To be in the top 100, you needed to ride minimum 185 km during the week!
There was 1 who rode more than 100 a day!
2 did 400+ km ride. 17 people did at least 200 km rides. 45 riders rode at least a century!
6 averaged above 30 kmph for the week. 7 climbed more than 4000 metres… Incredible riding by everyone.
Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…
Leaderboard: Overall
This leaderboard sees a fresh face at the top!
Rakesh Kumar Pawan from Bihar was top of the charts. He rode an incredible 714 km. He is back!
In second place is Sagar Shirbhate from Maharashtra who rode 683 km in the week.
Third spot is taken by Nishant Gupta from Maharashtra. He rode 605 km. He is back in the top spots.
Leaderboard: Women
The women’s leaderboard was back to being super competitive.
Rajlaxmi Teli from Maharashtra was top of the charts this week. Riding a crazy 366 km. She is 22nd overall. She was first last week as well.
Next up is Tara Jayaraman from Karnataka. Who rode an impressive 291 km. She is 42nd overall. She was third last week.
Third is Pradnya Ajagar from Maharashtra who rode 183 km.
There are 2 women in the top 100 this week, 4 less than last week.
Leaderboard: Longest Ride
The top 10 all did 200+ km rides!
Top spot goes to Shain from Kerala for the longest ride. He did a 403 km long ride!
Next up is Roshan Koshy from Kerala having done a 402 km long ride.
Third is Sushant from Maharashtra, who did a 301 km long ride.
Leaderboard: Fastest
The top 6 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace.
Fastest of the lot is Mayank Tripathi from Canada who averaged an incredible 37.1 kmph over the week! He was fastest last couple of weeks as well.
Second fastest for the week is Shun Athi from Tamil Nadu whose weekly average is an incredible 34 kmph.
Third is Ashwin Anthony from Chhattisgarh averaging 33.4 kmph over the week. This is the first time we have had a rider from this central state of India.

Climber of the week is Gaurav Negi from Uttarakhand having climbed 6692 metres. He was first last couple of weeks.
Second is Prince Patel from USA who climbed 5281 metres.
Third is Sonam Rana from Uttarakhand, who climbed 4610 metres during the week.
