Week 77 update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 21st November 2021.
Club Stats. 1543 members collectively rode 83122 km in 2179 rides, climbing 400691 metres in 3930 hours!
The number of members are up by 13 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride more and less. With total distance, elevation gained and time spent on the saddle were all down slightly, while rides were up.
To be in the top 100, you needed to ride minimum 256 km during the week!
There were 5 who averaged more than 100 km a day!
1 rode a 600, 11 rode at least a quadruple century and 39 rode a 200.
39 averaged above 30 kmph for the week. 16 climbed more than 4000 metres… Incredible riding by everyone.
Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…
Leaderboard: Overall
5 riders averaged more than 100 km a day.
Purvi Chauhan from Telangana was top of the charts. She rode an incredible 1274 km. She is riding Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
In second place is Jayant Juneja from Telangana who rode 1192 km in the week. He is also riding K2K with Purvi.
Third spot is taken by Balraj Singh Chauhan from Punjab. He rode 912 km. He was first last week.
Leaderboard: Women
The women’s leaderboard has gotten more competitive. The ladies have upped their game! To be in the top 10, you needed to ride at least 307+ km… The top 2 women switched spots.
Purvi Chauhan from Telangana was top of the charts this week. Riding an incredible 1274 km. She is 1st overall. She is currently riding from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and was second last week.
Next up is Varsha Gaikwad from Maharashtra. Who rode an impressive 744 km. She is 5th overall. She was first last 3 weeks and is also riding K2k.
Third is Sanjana Sudhir from Kerala who rode 445 km. She is 26th overall.
There are 13 women in the top 100 this week, 6 more than last week.
Leaderboard: Longest Ride
The monsoon and opening up of lockdowns ensured that long rides once again kicked started this week!
Top spot goes to Abhishek Bhagwat from Maharashtra for the longest ride. He did a 640 km long ride!
Next up is Shirin Kekre from Maharashtra having done a 428 km long ride.
Third is Sourav Chakraborty from West Bengal, who did a 426 km long ride.
Leaderboard: Fastest
The top 39 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace.
Fastest of the lot is Hemings from Karnataka who averaged an incredible 36.8 kmph over the week!
Second fastest for the week is Mayank Tripathi from Canada whose weekly average is a fantastic 35.5 kmph. He was second fastest last two weeks as well.
Third is Sanjeev Ramki from Tamil Nadu averaging 35.5 kmph over the week.

Maharashtra whitewashed the climbing leaderboard!
Climber of the week is Vivek Deshmukh from Maharashtra having climbed 5854 metres.
Second is Abhishek Bhagwat from Maharashtra who climbed 5659 metres.
