    Week 189 update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 14th January 2024.

    Club Stats. 3201 members collectively rode 113966 km in 3188 rides, climbing 614147 metres in 5367 hours!

    The number of members are up by 10 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride less. With total distance, elevation gained, number of rides and time spent on the saddle were all down.

    6 riders averaged more than 100 km a day.

    1 rode a 800 and 28 rode at least a 200.

    56 averaged above 30 kmph for the week.

    14 climbed more than 4000 metres.

    Incredible riding by everyone.

    Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…

    Leaderboard: Overall

    6 riders averaged more than 100 km a day!

    Shun Athi from Tamil Nadu was top of the charts. He rode an incredible 929 km. He was first last week as well.

    In second place is Shaharudeen J from Kerala who rode 863 km in the week.

    Third spot is taken by Jayaprakash Narayanasamy from Tamil Nadu. He rode 836 km.

    Leaderboard: Women

    The women’s leaderboard has gotten easier this week. To be in the top 10, you needed to ride 202+ km…

    There are 15 women in the top 100 this week, 2 less than last week.

    Naazia Farhein from Tamil Nadu was top of the charts this week. Riding an incredible 420 km. She is 29th overall.

    Next up is Kamala R from Karnataka. Who rode an impressive 365 km. She is 42nd overall.

    Third is Yogini Karpe from Maharashtra who rode 358 km. She is 45th overall.

    Leaderboard: Longest Ride

    A few long rides this week from the West Coast!

    Top spot goes to Shaharudeen J from Kerala for the longest ride. He did a 808 km long ride!

    Next up is Ivo Costa from Goa having done a 608 km long ride.

    Third is Jayaprakash Narayanasamy from Tamil Nadu, who did a 604 km long ride.

    Leaderboard: Fastest

    The top 56 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace.

    Fastest of the lot is Aali Abdullah from Tamil Nadu who averaged an incredible 36.9 kmph over the week!

    Second fastest for the week is Sudhev MB from Kerala whose weekly average is a fantastic 36.6 kmph.

    Third is Vikram Seth from Chandigarh averaging 36.5 kmph over the week.

    Leaderboard: Queen/ King of the Mountain

    The climbing leaderboard went to Tamil Nadu!

    Climber of the week is Jayaprakash Narayanasamy from Tamil Nadu having climbed 9450 metres.

    Second is Vasanth Kumar from Tamil Nadu who climbed 6816 metres.

    Third is Murali Ramakrishnan from Telangana, who climbed 6336 metres during the week. He was second last week.
