    Week 30 Update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 27th December 2020.

    Club Stats. 677 members collectively rode 60400 km in 1444 rides, climbing 326228 metres in 2878 hours!

    The number of members are up by 11 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride MORE with total distance, elevation gained and time spent on the saddle were all up.

    To be in the top 100, you needed to ride minimum 209 km during the week!

    There were 4 riders who rode more than 1000 km in the week and 6 who rode more than 100 a day!

    5 people did 300+ km rides. 15 people did at least 200 km rides. 66 riders rode at least a century!

    10 averaged above 30 kmph for the week. 9 who climbed more than 4000 metres… Incredible riding by everyone.

    Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…

    Leaderboard: Overall

    The top 4 rode more than 1000 km in the week. Crazy!

    Rakesh Kumar Pawan from Bihar was top of the charts. He rode a mind boggling 1448 km. He was first last five weeks as well. He is one of the top contenders in the Strava global rankings for December.

    In second place is Utkarsh Verma from Uttar Pradesh who rode 1303 km in the week. Impressive numbers! He is currently riding around India on the Golden Quadrilateral on a single speed bicycle.

    Third spot is taken by Nishant Gupta from Maharashtra. He rode 1297 km. Another rider who is the top 10 of the global Strava rankings for the month.

    Leaderboard: Women

    The women’s leaderboard is getting more competitive every week. With a clean sweep by Maharashtra!

    Hitisha Mehta from Maharashtra was top of the charts this week. Riding an impressive 446 km. She is 28th overall and was second last week. Hitisha had staked her claim for the top position and did as promised. Kudos to her…

    Next up is Pradnya Ajagar from Maharashtra. Who rode an impressive 397 km. She is 35th overall.

    Third is Sneha Narayanan from Maharashtra who rode 250 km. She is 75th overall.

    There are 5 women in the top 100 this week, 2 less than last week.

    Leaderboard: Longest Ride

    The top 10 all did 200+ km rides! A couple of new names at the top this week. And once again a clean sweep by Maharashtra.

    Top spot goes to Vivek Deshmukh from Maharashtra for the longest ride. He did a 475.3 km long ride!

    Next up is Swapnil Dabholkar from Maharashtra having done a 400 km long ride.

    Third is Nishant Gupta from Maharashtra, who did a 301.2 km long ride.

    Leaderboard: Fastest

    The top 10 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace.

    Fastest of the lot is Aditya Malhotra from Delhi who averaged an incredible 36.7 kmph over the week! He is back at the top after a brief hiatus.

    Second fastest for the week is Mayank Tripathi from Canada whose weekly average is an incredible 32.9 kmph. He was fastest the last couple of weeks.

    Third is Sankalp Thorat from Maharashtra averaging 31.8 kmph over the week.

    Leaderboard: King/ Queen of the Mountain

    Nandi for the win this week!

    Climber of the week is Mohammed Fazil from Karnataka having climbed 8467 metres. This included a half-everesting attempt at Nandi Hills in Bangalore.

    Second is Mohit Ubhan from Uttarakhand who climbed 6835 metres. Who is training for his everesting attempt.

    Third is Sudharshana D T from Karnataka, who climbed 5874 metres during the week.
