Week 43 update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 28th March 2021.
Club Stats. 847 members collectively rode 58485 km in 1623 rides, climbing 301340 metres in 2724 hours!
The number of members are up by 12 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride more or less the same with total distance, elevation gained and time spent on the saddle were all unchanged.
To be in the top 100, you needed to ride minimum 194 km during the week!
There were 4 who rode more than 100 a day!
1 did a 300+ km ride. 7 people did at least 200 km rides. 49 riders rode at least a century!
8 averaged above 30 kmph for the week. 6 climbed more than 4000 metres… Incredible riding by everyone.
Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…
Leaderboard: Overall
This leaderboard sees Nishant back at the top for the second week running.
Nishant Gupta from Maharashtra was top of the charts. He rode an incredible 2114 km. He was first last week as well.
In second place is Sukhwinder Singh from Punjab who rode 1347 km in the week. He is back at the top after a long time.
Third spot is taken by Sagar Shirbhate from Maharashtra. He rode 780 km.
Leaderboard: Women
The women’s leaderboard was back to being super competitive.
Poonam from Telangana was top of the charts this week. Riding 283 km. She is 44th overall. This is the first time she is topping the charts…
Next up is Divya Tekwani from Goa. Who rode an impressive 254 km. She is 60th overall.
Third is Tara Jayaraman from Karnataka who rode 173 km.
There are 2 women in the top 100 this week, 4 less than last week.
Leaderboard: Longest Ride
The top 10 all did 200+ km rides!
Top spot goes to Yaseen Shareef from Kerala for the longest ride. He did a 304 km long ride!
Next up is DNA from Delhi having done a 284 km long ride. He is currently touring from Delhi to Kolkata.
Third is Rahman Basheer from Tamil Nadu, who did a 214 km long ride.
Leaderboard: Fastest
The top 8 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace. The top 2 have switched places from last week.
Fastest of the lot is Mayank Tripathi from Canada who averaged an incredible 39 kmph over the week! He was second fastest last week.
Second fastest for the week is Shun Athi from Tamil Nadu whose weekly average is an incredible 34.3 kmph. He was fastest last week.
Third is Om Mahajan from USA averaging 34.2 kmph over the week.

Climber of the week is Gaurav Negi from Himachal Pradesh having climbed 8246 metres. He was second last week.
Second is Pranshul Sharma from Himachal Pradesh who climbed 7090 metres. He is a new entrant to this leaderboard.
Third is Sagar Shirbhate from Maharashtra, who climbed 5926 metres during the week. He was third last week as well.
