    Week 44 update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 4th April 2021.

    Club Stats. 860 members collectively rode 60072 km in 1627 rides, climbing 330589 metres in 2841 hours!

    The number of members are up by 13 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride more or less the same with total distance, elevation gained and time spent on the saddle were all unchanged.

    To be in the top 100, you needed to ride minimum 198 km during the week!

    There were 6 who rode more than 100 a day!

    1 did a 200+ km ride. 51 riders rode at least a century!

    6 averaged above 30 kmph for the week. 6 climbed more than 4000 metres… Incredible riding by everyone.

    Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…

    Leaderboard: Overall

    This leaderboard sees Nishant back at the top for the third week running.

    Nishant Gupta from Maharashtra was top of the charts. He rode an incredible 1182 km. He was first last two weeks as well.

    In second place is Sukhwinder Singh from Punjab who rode 928 km in the week. He was second last week as well.

    Third spot is taken by DNA from Delhi. He rode 926 km. He is touring from Delhi to Kolkata.

    Leaderboard: Women

    The women’s leaderboard was back to being super competitive.

    Rajlaxmi Teli from Maharashtra was top of the charts this week. Riding 312 km. She is 43rd overall. She is back at the top after a week away.

    Next up is Vanita Sharma from Punjab. Who rode an impressive 253 km. She is 67th overall. She is new on the leaderboard.

    Third is Simran Agarwal from Rajasthan who rode 218 km. She is 83rd overall.

    There are 4 women in the top 100 this week, 2 more than last week.

    Leaderboard: Longest Ride

    The summer heat ensured that no one did long rides this week!

    Top spot goes to DNA from Delhi for the longest ride. He did a 283 km long ride! He was second last week.

    Next up is Nishant Gupta from Maharashtra having done a 171 km long ride.

    Third is Sumith MK from Karnataka, who did a 165 km long ride.

    Leaderboard: Fastest

    The top 6 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace. The top 2 are unchanged from last week.

    Fastest of the lot is Mayank Tripathi from Canada who averaged an incredible 38 kmph over the week! He was fastest last week.

    Second fastest for the week is Shun Athi from Tamil Nadu whose weekly average is an incredible 33.5 kmph. He was second fastest last week as well.

    Third is Rohit Lijhara from Delhi averaging 31.4 kmph over the week.

    Leaderboard: King/ Queen of the Mountain

    The Himalayas help seal the KOM and then some more! Top spots being secured by HP…

    Climber of the week is Gaurav Negi from Himachal Pradesh having climbed 9280 metres. He was KOM last week as well.

    Second is Sandeep Thapa from Himachal Pradesh who climbed 7461 metres.

    Third is Sagar Shirbhate from Maharashtra, who climbed 5561 metres during the week. He was third last two weeks as well.
