Week 47 update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 25th April 2021.
Club Stats. 912 members collectively rode 44111 km in 1379 rides, climbing 236315 metres in 2013 hours!
The number of members are up by 11 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride less, with total distance, elevation gained and time spent on the saddle were all down considerably. Understandably with the pandemic raging across the country.
To be in the top 100, you needed to ride minimum 159 km during the week!
There were 3 who rode more than 100 a day!
19 riders rode at least a century!
11 who averaged above 30 kmph for the week. 4 climbed more than 4000 metres… Incredible riding by everyone.
Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…
Leaderboard: Overall
This leaderboard sees Sukhwinder Singh at the top for the third consecutive week. The top 2 were unchanged.
Sukhwinder Singh from Punjab was top of the charts. He rode an incredible 1143 km. He was first last week as well.
In second place is Nishant Gupta from Maharashtra who rode 1086 km in the week. He was second last week as well.
Third spot is taken by Rakesh Kumar Pawan from Bihar. He rode 707 km.
Leaderboard: Women
The women’s leaderboard lacked depth in the field again this week. The lockdown and pandemic regulations seems to have hit female riders harder. It was Maharashtra clean sweep of the top 3.
Ragni Gedam from Maharashtra was top of the charts this week. Riding 543 km. She is 5th overall. She was top woman last week as well.
Next up is Rajlaxmi Teli from Maharashtra. Who rode an impressive 366 km. She is 17th overall.
Third is Shirin Kekre from Maharashtra who rode 164 km. She is 95th overall.
There are 3 women in the top 100 this week, 1 less than last week.
Leaderboard: Longest Ride
The summer heat and lockdowns ensured that no one did long rides this week!
Top spot goes to GK Fat Bike Rider from Andhra Pradesh for the longest ride. He did a 180 km long ride!
Next up is Nishant Gupta from Maharashtra having done a 128 km long ride.
Third is Subu Narayanan from Tamil Nadu, who did a 109 km long ride.
Leaderboard: Fastest
The top 11 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace.
Fastest of the lot is Prince Patel from USA who averaged an incredible 34.9 kmph over the week! He was third fastest last week.
Second fastest for the week is Om Mahajan from USA whose weekly average is an incredible 33.5 kmph.
Third is Ashwin Vig from Karnataka averaging 32 kmph over the week.

Maharashtra locks out the top 3 spots on this leaderboard as well!
Climber of the week is Akash Dingare from Maharashtra having climbed 8181 metres.
Second is Sagar Shirbhate from Maharashtra who climbed 5344 metres. He was second last week as well.
