    Week 49 update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 9th May 2021.

    Club Stats. 957 members collectively rode 45247 km in 1416 rides, climbing 272112 metres in 2085 hours!

    The number of members are up by 18 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride less, with total distance, elevation gained and time spent on the saddle were all up. Excepted, considering the lockdown and pandemic raging across the country.

    To be in the top 100, you needed to ride minimum 161 km during the week!

    There were 4 who rode more than 100 a day!

    35 riders rode at least a century!

    22 who averaged above 30 kmph for the week. 7 climbed more than 4000 metres… Incredible riding by everyone.

    Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…

    Leaderboard: Overall

    This leaderboard sees Nishant Gupta regain at the top. The top 3 were unchanged, with just the order shaken up.

    Nishant Gupta from Maharashtra was top of the charts. He rode an incredible 905 km. He was second last week.

    In second place is Sukhwinder Singh from Punjab who rode 816 km in the week. He was first last week.

    Third spot is taken by Rakesh Kumar Pawan from Bihar. He rode 729 km. He was third last two weeks as well.

    Leaderboard: Women

    The women’s leaderboard dominated by Mehtas this week!

    Priyanka Mehta from Uttarakhand was top of the charts this week. Riding 268 km. She is 42nd overall. She does most of her riding in the mountains and was second last week.

    Next up is Hitisha Mehta from Maharashtra. Who rode an impressive 252 km. She is 48th overall.

    Third is Gini Desai from Gujarat who rode 227 km. She is 62nd overall. She is a new entrant to the club.

    There are 5 women in the top 100 this week, two more than last week.

    Leaderboard: Longest Ride

    The summer heat and lockdowns ensured that no one did long rides this week!

    Top spot goes to Eshanth Raj from Tamil Nadu for the longest ride. He did a 150 km long ride!

    Next up is Prince Patel from USA having done a 138 km long ride.

    Third is Nishant Gupta from Maharashtra, who did a 132 km long ride.

    Leaderboard: Fastest

    The top 22 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace.

    Fastest of the lot is Hitesh Kumar from Karnataka who averaged an incredible 35.7 kmph over the week!

    Second fastest for the week is Ashish Singh from Uttar Pradesh whose weekly average is a fantastic 35.2 kmph. He was second fastest last week as well.

    Third is Mayank Tripathi from Canada averaging 35.2 kmph over the week. He was third fastest last week as well.

    Leaderboard: King/ Queen of the Mountain

    Himachal Pradesh dominated proceedings on this leaderboard…

    Climber of the week is Gaurav Negi from Himachal Pradesh having climbed 8077 metres.

    Second is Pranshul Sharma from Himachal Pradesh who climbed 7320 metres.

    Third is Mukander Beniwal from Himachal Pradesh, who climbed 7106 metres during the week.
