    Week 79 update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 5th December 2021.

    Club Stats. 1560 members collectively rode 90290 km in 2368 rides, climbing 437715 metres in 4292 hours!

    The number of members are up by 6 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride less. With total distance, elevation gained, number of rides and time spent on the saddle were down marginally.

    To be in the top 100, you needed to ride minimum 266 km during the week!

    There were 11 who averaged more than 100 km a day!

    6 rode a 600, 25 rode at least a triple century and 47 rode a 200.

    33 averaged above 30 kmph for the week. 8 climbed more than 4000 metres… Incredible riding by everyone.

    Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…

    Leaderboard: Overall

    11 riders averaged more than 100 km a day.

    Saju Kulathumkal from Kerala was top of the charts. He rode an incredible 976 km.

    In second place is Naazia Farhein from Tamil Nadu who rode 970 km in the week.

    Third spot is taken by Aneesh Philip from Kerala. He rode 906 km.

    Leaderboard: Women

    The women’s leaderboard has gotten more competitive. The ladies have upped their game and the top 2 switched places! To be in the top 10, you needed to ride at least 201+ km…

    Naazia Farhein from Tamil Nadu was top of the charts this week. Riding an incredible 970 km. She is second overall. She was second last week.

    Next up is Purvi Chauhan from Telangana. Who rode an impressive 847 km. She is 5th overall. She was first last week.

    Third is Sanjana Sudhir from Kerala who rode 420 km. She is 37th overall.

    There are 8 women in the top 100 this week, 3 more than last week.

    Leaderboard: Longest Ride

    The monsoon and opening up of lockdowns ensured that long rides once again kicked started this week! Kerala locked out the top 3 spots…

    Top spot goes to Mathew Tom from Kerala for the longest ride. He did a 610 km long ride!

    Next up is Saju Kulathumkal from Kerala having done a 609 km long ride.

    Third is Aneesh Philip from Kerala, who did a 608 km long ride.

    Leaderboard: Fastest

    The top 33 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace.

    Fastest of the lot is Hemings from Karnataka who averaged an incredible 37.7 kmph over the week!

    Second fastest for the week is Joel Sundaram from Karnataka whose weekly average is a fantastic 35 kmph. He was third last week.

    Third is Anirudh Chadha from Delhi averaging 34.1 kmph over the week.

    Leaderboard: Queen/ King of the Mountain

    The climbing leaderboard saw a bunch of surprises!

    Climber of the week is Sreekanth A from Kerala having climbed 7023 metres.

    Second is Sagar Shirbhate from Maharashtra who climbed 5417 metres.

    Third is Ripunjay Gogoi from Assam, who climbed 5107 metres during the week.
