BIG NEWS from the 2026 Asian Mountain Bike Championships being held in Bo’stonliq, Uzbekistan. The Indian Mixed Elite Relay team won Bronze on the first day of racing.

Mixed Elite – Cross-Country Team Relay Results The Indian team comprising of Ashish Sherpa, Pranita Soman, K. Hashini, Santosh Pranesh, Manali Ratnoji and Tsewang Norboo worked well together to make the dream work by finishing the race in 3rd place overall. The race was won by China and Japan took second place.

But this wasn’t the only race that Pranita has competed in. She and Star Narzary represented the country in the Women’s Elite Cross-Country Short Circuit race. Where they finished 8th and 11th respectively.

Women Elite – Cross-Country Short Circuit Result The Under-23 Women also raced the Cross-Country Short Circuit. With Manali Ratnoji ending the race in 9th place.

01/07/2026 at 15:56 #10252Some more results have trickled in from the 2026 Asian Mountain Bike Championships held in Uzbekistan.
Men Elite – Cross-country Short Circuit Results
The two Indian riders who lined up at the start of this race were Ashish Sherpa and Shiven. Ashish went on to finish in a credible 16th place using his explosive power to finish the course in 25 minutes 20 seconds, around 3 minutes behind the overall winnner. While Shiven finished in 24th, down by 2 laps.
The race was won by Japanese rider Riki Kitabayashi in 22 minutes and 24 seconds.
Men Elite – Downhill
Two Indian Racers were queued up for the Downhill race. Taitus Marak and Virendra Mali finished the course in 2:44.052 and 2:47.491 minutes respectively. They were placed a healthy 7th and 9th overall. The fastest time was set by Thailand’s Methasit Boonsane with a 2:25.099.
Men Under-23 – Cross-country Short CircuitDhananjay S and Tsewang Norboo were the two young Indian lads representing the country in the Under-23s. Norboo did not take to the start line, as he had already raced in the team mixed relay event the same day. Dhananjay finished a respectable 15th with a time of 23 minutes and 7 seconds. This was after a crash during practice and pushing his limits for a good result.

Women Elite – Cross-country Olympic
Star Narzary and Pranita Soman, the two elite women riders were at the start line of the XCO race. Star finished the race in 10th, four laps down from the winner. While Pranita suffered a crash and DNF’d.
The race was won by Zhifan Wu in 1 hour 26 minutes and 12 seconds.
Women Under-23 – Cross-country Olympic
India had a sole representative in the Under-23 women’s XCO category. Manali Ratnoji finished in 9th place and 3 laps down to the winner. The race was won by Ting Wang in 1 hour 14 minutes and 29 seconds.
Men Under-23 – Cross-country Olympic
India had a great showing in the Under-23 men XCO category. Tsewang Norboo finished an incredibly strong 5th with a time of 1 hour 18 minutes and 4 seconds. While Dhananjay S finished in 13th and 1 lap down.
The race was won by Sheng Wang in 1 hour 14 minutes and 27 seconds.
Men Junior – Cross-country Olympic
The XCO Men’s Junior race was entered by three Indian lads. Antony Raj finished in a strong 9th position with a time of 1 hour 1 minute and 11 seconds. Pranesh Santhosh finished in 15th, 1 lap down. While Rehaan Roshan was down in 24th and 3 laps down from the winner.
The race was won by Qingyun Guan in 53 minutes and 42 seconds.
Women Junior – Cross-country Olympic
In the Women’s Junior XCO category, India was once again represented by 3 young riders. K Hashini finished in 8th, down 2 laps. Keerthana Therese finished in 10th also down by 2 laps, followed by Sowbarnika S in 11th.
The race was won by Yi Li in 49 minutes and 36 seconds.
Women Elite – Cross-country Eliminator
The Women Elite XCE was represented by two Indians, both from the Junior category fighting in the Elite group. Keerthana Therese finished in 14th and Sowbarnika S finished in 15th in the XCE race won by Zhenglan Liang.

Men Elite – Cross-country Olympic
There were 3 elite men racing for India in this category. Khushiman Gharti finished the race in a strong 9th place with a time of 1 hour 31 minutes and 25 seconds. Ashish Sherpa finished another ten places further behind in 19th and 3 laps down on the winner. Shiven suffering from an ankle injury finished in 25th and 4 laps down.
The race was won by Riki Kitabayashi from Japan in 1 hour 24 minutes and 16 seconds.

Men Elite – Cross-country Eliminator
There were four Indians racing in the XCE format. With Tsewang Norboo best placed in 10th. Dhananjay S finished in 16th. A further two positions down, Ashish Sherpa finished in 18th; while Khushiman Gharti finished in 21st. The youngsters of Team India did a stellar job in the Eliminator format, which requires explosive power straight out of the gate. They finished in their order of age, with Norboo at 19-years-old, Dhananjay 20 and Sherpa and Gharti both at 25 years old.
The race was won by Phunsiri Sirimongkhon of Thailand.
