Week 25 Update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 22nd November 2020.

Club Stats. 597 members collectively rode 58873 km in 1390 rides, climbing 305307 metres in 2692 hours!
The number of members are up by 21 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride significantly more, with number of rides, total distance, elevation gained and time spent on the saddle up.
After eating too many Diwali mithai, this week, everyone went all guns blazing to ride hard…
To be in the top 100, you needed to ride minimum 203 km during the week!
There were 3 riders who rode more than 1000 km in the week and 6 who rode more than 100 a day!
8 people did 400 km rides. 26 people did at least 200 km rides. 73 riders rode at least a century!
11 who averaged above 30 kmph for the week. 6 who climbed more than 4000 metres… Incredible riding by everyone.
Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…
Leaderboard: Overall

The top 3 rode more than 1000 km in the week. Crazy! The top three remain same as last week, only the order has gotten shaken up.
Rakesh Kumar Pawan from Bihar was top of the charts. He rode a mind boggling 1772 km. He was first last week as well.
In second place is Srinath Kareti from Tamil Nadu who rode 1200 km in the week. He was third last week.
Third spot is taken by Nishant Gupta from Maharashtra. He rode 1114 km. He was second last week.

Vidhi Bhanushali from Maharashtra was top of the charts this week. Riding a massive 485 km. She is 17th overall. This included a 400 km ride…
Next up is Lorraine D’Costa from Kerala. Who rode an impressive 293 km. She is 56th overall. She was second last week as well.
Third is Rajlaxmi Teli from Maharashtra who rode 282 km. She is 61st overall.

The top 10 all did 300+ km rides!
Top spot goes to Navin Sridhar from Maharashtra for the longest ride. He did a 403 km long ride!
Next up is Mohammed Fazil from Karnakata having done a 402 km long ride. Just 1 km short of top spot…
Third is Shubham Vala from Maharashtra, who did a 401 km long ride, just a couple of kilometres shy of top spot!

The top 3 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace while clocking incredible mileage.
Fastest of the lot is Aditya Malhotra from Delhi who averaged an incredible 39.8 kmph over the week! That is FAST considering he rode 305 km as well. He was 1st last week as well.
Second fastest for the week is Satvik Gupta from Haryana whose weekly average is an incredible 38 kmph.
Third is Mayank Tripathi from Canada averaging 34.7 kmph over the week. Incredible considering he climbed 4400 metres as well.
Leaderboard: King/ Queen of the Mountain

The Nilgiris and the Himalayas have been dethroned in the climbing category by Assam for the second week running!
Climber of the week is Hemabh Choudhury from Assam having climbed 8497 metres. That is an incredible amount of climbing.
Second is Mohammed Fazil from Karnataka who climbed 5925 metres.
Third is Chaitanya Salunke from Maharashtra, who climbed 5120 metres during the week.

Week 24 Update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 15th November 2020.
Club Stats. 576 members collectively rode 52036 km in 1291 rides, climbing 265234 metres in 2422 hours!
The number of members are up by 19 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride significantly less, with number of rides, total distance, elevation gained and time spent on the saddle down.
Riders this week, spent more time eating sweets at Diwali and less time on the saddle…
To be in the top 100, you needed to ride minimum 183 km during the week!
There were two riders who rode more than 1000 km in the week and 8 who rode more than 100 a day!
51 riders who rode at least a century. 7 who averaged above 30 kmph for the week. 8 who climbed more than 4000 metres… Incredible riding by everyone.

Top spot goes to Balraj Singh Chauhan from Punjab for the longest ride. He did a 610 km long ride!
Next up is Om Hitendra Mahajan from Maharashtra having done a 306 km long ride.
Third is Ratan Rangpee from Assam, who did a 234 km long ride.

Fastest of the lot is Aditya Malhotra from Delhi who averaged an incredible 36.5 kmph over the week! That is FAST considering he rode 360 km as well. He was 3rd last week.
Second fastest for the week is Satvik Gupta from Haryana whose weekly average is an incredible 36.3 kmph. He was fastest last week.
Third is Ronald Rathore from Gujarat averaging 31.8 kmph over the week. A new entrant to the leaderboard.

Club Stats. 557 members collectively rode 56228 km in 1361 rides, climbing 292939 metres in 2676 hours!
The number of members are up by 24 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride the same, with number of rides, total distance, elevation gained and time spent on the saddle almost the same as last week. This is the third time that the club crossed 50000 km in a week!
To be in the top 100, you needed to ride minimum 197 km during the week!
There were two riders who rode more than 1000 km in the week. 70 riders who rode at least a century. 5 who averaged above 30 kmph for the week. Incredible riding by everyone.

Climber of the week is Anil Gurung from Uttarakhand having climbed 9446 metres. That is an incredible amount of climbing.

Third is Sachin Nemade from Maharashtra, who climbed 8002 metres during the week.

Club Stats. 533 members collectively rode 56257 km in 1368 rides, climbing 284593 metres in 2572 hours!
The number of members are up by 25 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride MORE, with number of rides, total distance, elevation gained and time spent on the saddle up substantially as compared to last week. This is the second time that club crossed 50000 km in a week!
To be in the top 100, you needed to ride minimum 207 km during the week!
There were three riders who rode more than 1000 km in the week. 63 riders who rode at least a century. 6 who averaged above 30 kmph for the week. Incredible riding by everyone.

In second place is Rakesh Kumar Pawan from Bihar who rode 1283 km in the week. Significantly more than he rode last week. Yet he remains in 2nd place, same as last week.

The number of members are up by 19 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride MORE, with number of rides, total distance and time spent on the saddle up marginally as compared to last week. This is the first time that club crossed 50000 km in a week! Total elevation gained was down as compared to last week.
To be in the top 100, you needed to ride 189 km during the week!

Club Stats. 489 members collectively rode 47400 km in 1182 rides, climbing 265231 metres in 2199 hours!
The number of members are up by 12 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride LESS, with number of rides, total distance, time spent on the saddle and elevation gained down marginally as compared to last week.

Sagar Shirbhate from Maharashtra was top of the charts. He rode an incredible 749 km. He was 2nd last week.

Club Stats. 477 members collectively rode 48599 km in 1267 rides, climbing 269513 metres in 2282 hours!
The number of members are up by 11 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride more, with number of rides, total distance, time spent on the saddle and elevation gained up marginally as compared to last week.
You needed to ride at least 190 km in the week to be in the top 100…Incredible!

Shun Athi from Tamil Nadu was top of the charts. He rode an incredible 799 km. Numbers in line with his endurance racing. He was 3rd last week.
In second place is Sagar Shirbhate from Maharashtra who rode 792 km in the week. Just a handful of kilometres less than 1st place.
Third spot is taken by Sukhwinder Singh from Punjab. He rode 687 km. After 14 weeks of being in the top 2, he has finally been deposed. Nonetheless, an incredibly impressive mileage by him.

Third is Sagar Shirbhate from Maharashtra, who climbed 5858 metres during the week.

Any recommendations for power meters for indoor bicycle training. Power2max is super expensive. Thanks

As per our resident cycling expert Sumit Patil:
You can go for single sided power meter. Can be pedal type or crank arm type (if the existing crankset is compatible). Given, cost is a concern.
The options for pedal type are Powertap and Garmin. And SRM pedals if available in India.
For Crankarm type, one can go for Stages Powermeter.Also with Stages one can go with a mismatch, as well. For eg. if you have a hollow axle Dura Ace, one can also use a 105 Stages. Just keep the length same. Shimano hollow-tech crank arms are inter compatible throughout the series and year versions.
