    Week 63 update of the Cycling Monks Strava Group. Week ending 15th August 2021.

    Club Stats. 1271 members collectively rode 94526 km in 2569 rides, climbing 519232 metres in 4577 hours!

    The number of members are up by 23 as compared to last week. The week saw everyone collectively ride more. With total distance, elevation gained and time spent on the saddle were all hitting an all time high. Again!

    To be in the top 100, you needed to ride minimum 259 km during the week!

    There were 3 who rode more than 100 a day!

    10 rode at least a triple century, 36 rode at least a double century and 100 riders rode at least a century!

    32 averaged above 30 kmph for the week. 13 climbed more than 4000 metres… Incredible riding by everyone.

    Kudos to all the riders who have been working hard on their saddles…

    Leaderboard: Overall

    3 riders averaged more than 100 km a day.

    Sachin Nemade from Maharashtra was top of the charts. He rode an incredible 873 km.

    In second place is Shun Athi from Tamil Nadu who rode 735 km in the week.

    Third spot is taken by Jerry John from Telangana. He rode 701 km.

    Leaderboard: Women

    The women’s leaderboard has gotten more competitive. The ladies have upped their game! To be in the top 10, you needed to ride at least 220 km…

    Bijurika Saha from West Bengal was top of the charts this week. Riding an incredible 446 km. She is 24th overall.

    Next up is Jasleen Sahni from Gujarat. Who rode an impressive 424 km. She is 30th overall.

    Third is Vanita Sharma from Punjab who rode 410 km. She is 31st overall.

    There are 7 women in the top 100 this week, tw0 more than last week.

    Leaderboard: Longest Ride

    The monsoon and opening up of lockdowns ensured that long rides once again kicked started this week! Brevet season is back…

    Top spot goes to Anupam Khanduja from Maharashtra for the longest ride. He did a 528 km long ride!

    Next up is Nigel RS from Kerala having done a 444 km long ride.

    Third is Vanita Sharma from Punjab, who did a 410 km long ride.

    Leaderboard: Fastest

    The top 32 have been riding at a seriously impressive pace.

    Fastest of the lot is Haersh Laungani from Maharashtra who averaged an incredible 38.9 kmph over the week!

    Second fastest for the week is Samay D from USA whose weekly average is a fantastic 34.9 kmph.

    Third is Mayank Tripathi from Canada averaging 33.1 kmph over the week.

    Leaderboard: Queen/ King of the Mountain

    Uttarakhand took top honours this week, as the KOM returned to the Himalayas!

    Climber of the week is Sonam Rana from Uttarakhand having climbed 10020 metres. He was KOM last week as well.

    Second is Rajbir Singh from Himachal Pradesh who climbed 7067 metres.

    Third is Nithin Kumar from Kerala, who climbed 6079 metres during the week.
